This composite material structure body is provided with a main body and a first cover ply, wherein the main body has a stepped part configured by stacking a plurality of plies so that the end faces thereof are misaligned with each other, and comprises: a first structure part in which a first ply is stacked as the uppermost layer; a second structure part in which a second ply is stacked as the uppermost layer, the second ply being different from the first ply and positioned spaced apart from the first ply in the stacking direction; and the stepped part, which is provided between the first structure part and the second structure part, and the first cover ply comprises: a covering part for covering the stepped part; one end that extends from one end of the covering part in a direction perpendicular to the stacking direction; and the other end that extends from the other end of the covering part in a direction perpendicular to the stacking direction, the first cover ply being configured to cover only a portion of the surface of the first ply and a portion of the surface of the second ply.
