Abstract:
The present invention addresses the problem of providing an exfoliated lamellar substance which, when incorporated into silicone resins, etc., has satisfactory dispersibility and is highly effective in improving physical properties. The present invention is a composite material comprising an exfoliated lamellar substance and a coating substance with which the surface of the exfoliated lamellar substance has been coated, wherein the coating substance is a polysiloxane compound having an organic group and the content of the coating substance is 0.1-100 parts by mass per 100 parts by mass of the exfoliated lamellar substance. It is preferable that the exfoliated lamellar substance have an average thickness of 1,200 nm or less and have an average area of 0.1 μm2 to 500 μm2.
