Abstract:
Provided is a composite membrane obtained by applying a hydrophobic polymer (A) to a substrate (B) constituted of a hydrophilic polymer, characterized in that the hydrophobic polymer is present on the surface of and/or within the substrate.  Also provided is an iontophoresis device which comprises a working-side electrode structure, a non-working-side electrode structure, and a direct-current power supply connected to a working-side electrode of the working-side electrode structure and a non-working-side electrode of the non-working-side electrode structure so that the electrodes differ in polarity.  The device is for administering an ionic drug to the living body by means of the direct-current power supply.  The device is characterized in that the non-working-side electrode structure includes the non-working-side electrode and a non-working-side electrolyte solution holding part and that the working-side electrode structure includes the working-side electrode, an electrolyte solution holding part, a drug solution holding part in which the ionic drug is held, and a diaphragm disposed between the electrolyte solution holding part and the drug solution holding part, the diaphragm being the composite membrane.
