Abstract:
This composite optical system unit (40) has multiple polarizing beam splitters (400A, 400B, 400C), a pair of spacer plates (420, etc.), and an optical element (411). The pair of spacer plates (420) is arranged between the first polarizing beam splitter (400A) and the second polarizing beam splitter (400C) such that a first contact surface is fixed with surface contact to the exit-side surface (403) of the first polarizing beam splitter (400A) and a second contact surface is fixed with surface contact to the incidence-side surface (405a) of the second polarizing beam splitter (400C). The optical element (411) is arranged between the pair of spacer plates (420).
