Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide: a composite oxide having improved catalytic performance for converting carbon dioxide to methanol; a catalyst for methanol production, said catalyst containing the composite oxide; and a composite oxide production method that is suitable for producing the composite oxide. Provided are: a composite oxide that contains Cu, Zn, and Zr, has a specific surface area of 50 m2/g or greater, and has a Cu dispersion degree of 6.5% or greater; a catalyst for methanol production, said catalyst containing the composite oxide; and a composite oxide production method that is suitable for producing the composite oxide.
