Abstract:
The objectives of/problems addressed by the present invention are: to provide a composite particle that has superior NOx purification performance and that can suppress contraction resulting from water adsorption and expansion resulting from water desorption; and to provide a honeycomb structure that has superior NOx purification performance and that can suppress breakage of a honeycomb unit resulting from the adsorption or desorption of water, a method for producing the honeycomb structure, and an exhaust gas purification device having the honeycomb structure. Also, the composite particles, resulting from adhering a metal oxide to silicoaluminophosphate particles of which the ratio of the quantity of Si to the sum of the quantities of Al and P is 0.16-0.33 inclusive, are characterized by the specific surface area being 250-450 m2/g inclusive, and the outer surface area being 30-90 m2/g inclusive.
