Abstract:
Provided is a high-precision composite plain bearing which has a synthetic resin bearing layer on a base of sintered metal to provide precision rotational torque with stability and which can be used as plain bearings for receiving a relatively large radial load or axial load, e.g., for receiving the rotational shafts of a room air conditioner compressor or a car air conditioner compressor and the transmissions of an automobile or a construction machine. The composite plain bearing is adapted such that the plain bearing is cylindrical in shape and integrally provided with a resin layer (2) on the inner diameter surface of the sintered metal base (1); the resin layer (2) is made up of a resin constituent with a fiber-shaped filler mixed into an aromatic polyether ketone based resin; the fiber-shaped filler (3) is distributed in the resin layer while being aligned so that the longitudinal direction of the fibers intersects the rotational direction of the bearing at an angle of 45 to 90 degrees; and the resin layer (2) is 0.1 to 0.7mm in thickness. This alleviates the wear and damage of counterpart members which may be caused by the edges of the fibers, and thus provides a stabilized frictional coefficient. The composite plain bearing, which has the synthetic resin bearing layer (2) as the base (1) of sintered metal, can thus provide a precision rotational torque with stability.
