Abstract:
Provided are: a rubber–cord composite that improves the strength and modulus of an entire belt layer without generating problems caused by reinforcing cords and is capable of further improving the durability of tires compared to conventional tires; a reinforcing member for tires; and a tire using same. The rubber–cord composite is used in a spiral cord layer in a reinforcing member for tires having a core material cord layer 2 and a spiral cord layer 3. At least one reinforcing cord 3a is aligned in parallel and coated in rubber. The reinforcing cord includes a non-metallic fiber. When the reinforcing cord modulus is A, the number of cords is B, the thickness of the reinforcing cord is C, the specific gravity of the reinforcing cord is D, the number of upper twists in the reinforcing cord is E, and the total fineness of the reinforcing cord is F: a modulus X, being X = A×B, is at least 1,000 GPa; the cord interval Y, being Y = (50–B×C)/B, is 0.1–5 mm; and the twisting coefficient Z for the reinforcing cord, being Z = tanθ= E ×√(0.125×F/D)/1,000, exceeds 0.3.
