Abstract:
Th present invention relates to a composition comprising snake venom for the prevention or treatment of an inflammatory disease. More specifically, the present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition comprising Agkistrodon piscivorus piscivorus (AP) or Naja melanoleuca (NM) as an active ingredient for the prevention or treatment of an inflammatory disease, a quasi-drug composition, and a method for the prevention or treatment of an inflammatory disease, the method comprising a step for administering the composition to a subject or a step for coating the composition on the skin of a subject. The composition comprising snake venom for the prevention or treatment of an inflammatory disease of the present invention has excellent skin ulcer treatment efficacy by increasing the expression of C-C chemokine receptor type 1 (CCR1) in skin ulcer-induced mice, and thus can be advantageously used through the application to medical products including an externally-applied dermal preparation for the treatment of a skin ulcer, especially the treatment of Behcet's disease or Buerger's disease.
