Title:
COMPOSITION COMPRISING LACTOBACILLUS INTESTINALIS FOR PREVENTION OR TREATMENT OF CLIMACTERIC SYMPTOM
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2018/030838
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a novel Lactobacillus intestinalis YT2 strain (accession No: KCCM11812P) and a composition comprising Lactobacillus intestinalis inclusive of the novel strain as an effective ingredient for prevention, alleviation, or treatment of climacteric symptoms. The present inventors established a menopausal animal model by oophorectomy, detected a change in gut microbiota composition therefrom, identified and separated a novel Lactobacillus intestinalis strain among lactic acid bacteria which were significantly decreased in ratio in the microbiota composition of the menopausal model, and examined alleviative effects of the novel strain and conventionally reported Lactobacillus intestinalis strains on climacteric symptoms, such as suppression of increase in body fat, decreases in bone density, and increase in pain sensitivity, and alleviation of depression. The composition comprising Lactobacillus intestinalis according to the present invention is expected to be useful for prevention, alleviation or treatment of climacteric symptoms.
