Abstract:
The present invention relates to a composition comprising oleanolic acid acetate as an active ingredient for preventing, alleviating, or treating renal toxicity induced by a medicine. Specifically, the present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition for preventing or treating renal toxicity induced by a medicine, the composition comprising oleanolic acid acetate or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof as an active ingredient, to a health functional food comprising the active ingredient for preventing or alleviating renal toxicity induced by a medicine, and to an anticancer supplement comprising the active ingredient. The oleanolic acid acetate of the present invention is derived from a natural material, and thus has no side effect and no toxicity and has excellent effects of preventing, alleviating, and treating renal toxicity induced by a medicine, especially, a platinum-based anticancer agent, and therefore, the oleanolic acid acetate of the present invention can be utilized as a pharmaceutical composition, a health functional food, and an anticancer supplement therefor.
