Abstract:
The present invention relates to a composition containing a Cirsium japonicum extract as an active ingredient for stimulating melanogenesis, wherein the composition causes no skin irritation, has no cytotoxicity, has excellent stability in the human body, and is very effective in the stimulation of melanogenesis, and thus can be safely used as an active ingredient in a cosmetic material or pharmaceutical composition for prevention, alleviation, or treatment of leukoplakia, leukotrichia, or hypochromatism.
