Abstract:
The present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition, containing a Quisaqualis indica extract as an active ingredient, for preventing or treating prostatic hyperplasia, and to a food composition. According to the present invention, the Quisaqualis indica extract of the present invention can be favorably used to treat and prevent prostatic hyperplasia by exhibiting effects of a reduction in prostate weight, a reduction in DHT as a prostatic hyperplasia inducing factor, and a reduction in prostate epithelial cell hyperplasia.
