Abstract:
The present invention relates to a composition for diagnosing, treating, and preventing liver disease, and more particularly: to a composition for diagnosing liver disease, including a material for measuring protein grade TM4SF5 (transmembrane 4 L six family member 5 or four-transmembrane L6 superfamily member 5); to a liver disease diagnostic kit including the composition; to a method for providing information for measuring the expression and phosphorylation grade of signal transferring proteins related to a TM4SF5 protein grade and TM4SF5 expression, and comparing the measurement to a test sample from a healthy control group in order to diagnose for liver disease; to a screening method for a substance to treat liver disease; and to a composition for liver disease treatment or prevention which includes a substance for inhibiting the phosphorylation and expression of signal transferring proteins related to the expression of TM4SF5 protein or TM4SF5. According to the present invention, liver disease diagnosis, substance screening, and the like are possible through the measurement of TM4SF5 expression grade and the measurement of the levels of phosphorylation and expression of signal transferring proteins related to TM4SF5 expression, and liver disease prevention and/or treatment is possible through the use of an antagonist for TM4SF5.
