Abstract:
An embodiment of the present invention is directed to a composition for an electrode rod to manufacture an electrode member of an electric furnace, wherein the composition may comprise a first carbon-based material including artificial graphite, an antioxidant material including a material having higher reactivity with oxygen (O) than carbon (C), and a binder. According to embodiments of the present invention, the oxidation resistance of the electrode member provided on the electrode rod of the electric furnace can be improved, and thus the rate at which the electrode member is oxidized can be reduced. Therefore, penciling can be inhibited where the diameter of the electrode member is reduced by oxidation.
