Abstract:
 The objective of the present invention is to provide: a composition for forming a thermoelectric conversion layer, the composition having exceptional thermoelectric properties; a thermoelectric conversion element in which said composition is used to form a thermoelectric conversion layer; and a thermoelectric power generating component. A composition for forming a thermoelectric conversion layer, the composition containing inorganic particles having an average grain size no larger than 1.0 µm, wherein the composition for forming a thermoelectric conversion layer contains a carrier transport material that satisfies the condition that the mobility is at least 0.001 cm2 and/or the carrier density is 1E10-1E21 cm-3 when the band gap of the inorganic particles is 1.5 eV or less, and contains a thermal excitation material that is an organic material satisfying the condition that the band gap is 1.5 eV or less when the band gap of the inorganic particles is greater than 1.5 eV.
