Abstract:
The invention pertains to the fields of foods, feeding stuffs, pharmaceuticals
and the like. Specifically, a composition is provided which comprises cis9,trans11-conjugated
linoleic acid and a fish oil as active ingredients and has an excellent effect
of improving lipid metabolism. When a composition comprising the two components
in combination is orally ingested, the triglyceride, cholesterol and phospholipid
levels in the serum or liver are significantly reduced compared to a case where
a composition which does not comprise the two components in combination or comprises
only one of the two components is ingested. Therefore, the composition can effectively
prevent or ameliorate a disease such as a lifestyle-related disease, a coronary
artery disease, a cerebral artery disease or the like, including hypertriacylglycerolemia,
hypercholesterolemia, atherosclerosis, obesity, diabetes and hypertension,.
