Abstract:
The present invention relates to a prebiotic composition, a composition for improving gut microbiota, and a composition for improving gut health or gut function, which comprise an extract of radish greens or a polymer fraction of radish greens as an effective component, and thus can induce propagation of beneficial bacteria in the gut to improve, prevent or treat the gut health or gut function. In addition, the compositions of the present invention have no toxicity and thus can be taken in a form of a food product. The present invention relates to a composition for alleviating, preventing, or treating obesity or metabolic disorder, and more specifically, to a composition comprising an extract of radish greens as an effective component for alleviating, preventing, or treating obesity or metabolic disorder, and a composition for enhancing intestinal immunity. The present invention relates to a composition for alleviating, preventing, or treating obesity or metabolic disorder, and more specifically, to a composition for alleviating, preventing, or treating obesity or metabolic disorder, which comprises an extract of radish greens as an effective component, and thus suppresses preadipocyte differentiation and lipid accumulation; reduces increases in body weight and body fat; lowers endotoxin, neutral fat, and total cholesterol concentrations in serum; and suppresses the expression of hormones associated with adipocyte differentiation in serum. The compositions according to the present invention not only can treat obesity, but also can alleviate, prevent, or treat obesity-induced metabolic disorders along with the treatment of obesity by enhancing immune activation, and thus are extremely useful.
