Abstract:
The present invention relates to a novel use of a Tussalingo farafara L. extract, and more particularly, to a composition containing as an active ingredient a Tussalingo farafara L. ethanol extract for preventing and treating leukemia, and to a functional food which including a food supplementary additive, which is acceptable from a nutritional science perspective, for preventing leukemia. The composition and the functional food for treating leukemia, according to the present invention, effectively suppresses the growth of leukemia cells and induces apoptosis and thus can be effectively used for treating and preventing leukemia.
