Title:
COMPOSITION FOR INHIBITING MYOSTATIN ACTIVITY, CONTAINING MATRIX gla PROTEIN AS ACTIVE INGREDIENT
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2018/135738
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a composition for inhibiting myostatin activity, containing a matrix gla protein as an active ingredient. More specifically, it is confirmed that a composition containing a matrix gla protein as an active ingredient promotes the differentiation of muscle satellite cells by increasing the expression of genes associated with the differentiation of the muscle and inhibits myostatin activity by inhibiting the binding of myostatin, which induces muscle wasting, with ACVRIIB, and thus the composition containing a matrix gla protein as an active ingredient can be effectively usable as an agent for modulating myostatin activity and an agent for treating muscle diseases such as myostatin-induced muscle wasting.
