Abstract:
Provided are: a composition that is useful for producing a luminescent element in which initial degradation is suppressed; and a luminescent element formed using the composition. This composition for a luminescent element contains a host material and a guest material. The host material contains an aromatic compound having a fused ring skeleton in which three or more benzene rings only are condensed. The guest material contains an aromatic amine compound. The total amount of potassium atoms contained in the host material and potassium atoms contained in the guest material is 290 ppb by mass or less relative to the total amount of the host material and the guest material.
