Abstract:
The present invention relates to a composition for preventing, alleviating, or treating fatty liver disease, comprising a Gryllus bimaculatus extract as an active ingredient. The Gryllus bimaculatus extract, as an active ingredient of the present invention, has been confirmed to effectively reduce the accumulation of triglycerides in a liver cancer cell line (HepG2) and, when administered, notably exhibit changes in the body weight of animal models, changes in the weight of the liver, subcutaneous fat, renal adipose tissue, and small intestinal adipose tissue, and changes in the lipid biochemical indicators. Therefore, the composition according to the present invention can be usefully employed as a functional health food, medicine, or feed additive for preventing, alleviating, or treating fatty liver disease.
