Abstract:
Provided is a composition which contains chitosan and a plant-derived mineral and increases the excretion of uric acid, which is a substance that causes hyperuricemia, from the blood into the urine, and also decreases the amount of absorption of purine, which is a uric acid precursor, into the body from the digestive organs. Provided are: a composition which prevents or reduces hyperuricemia and is characterized by containing chitosan having a degree of deacetylation of at least 80%, and a plant-derived mineral component obtained by extracting, in an inert gas atmosphere, a mineral component from ash produced by incinerating a plant in an inert gas atmosphere; and a method for producing the same.
