Title:
COMPOSITION FOR PREVENTING OR TREATING DIABETES BY USING CD9, AND METHOD FOR SCREENING FOR ANTIDIABETIC AGENTS
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2020/017788
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a composition for preventing or treating diabetes by using CD9, and a method for screening for antidiabetic agents. More specifically, the present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition for preventing or treating diabetes, containing, as an active ingredient, a CD9 protein expression or activity inhibitor or an insulin-secreting cell from which a CD9 gene is deleted, and to a method for screening for antidiabetic agents, comprising the steps of: (a) bringing a test substance in contact with cells in which a CD9 gene is expressed; (b) measuring, in control group cells in which the cells do not make contact with the test substance, the expression level of the CD9 gene; and (c) selecting, as a candidate agent for treating diabetes, the test substance which causes the CD9 gene expression level to be lower than that of the control group cells.
