Abstract:
The present invention provides a pharmaceutical composition containing a dodder extract or rehmannia root and dodder extracts for preventing or treating hearing loss. Furthermore, the present invention provides a food composition containing the dodder extract or the rehmannia root and dodder extracts for preventing or improving hearing loss. The compositions according to the present invention are capable of suppressing hearing loss, especially hearing loss due to acoustic trauma and temporary or permanent noise deafness, by restricting a rise in the hearing threshold due to noise and the like. Therefore, the compositions according to the present invention are effective in preventing or treating healing loss. Furthermore, the invention can improve compliance of patients since it can be administered orally.
