Abstract:
Provided are: a composition for sealing a coated electric wire, the composition containing a thickener and 2-cyanoacrylate compound containing an alkyl-2-cyanoacrylate having a C2 or more alkyl group and a 2-cyanoacrylate having an ether bond on an ester moiety, wherein the content of the 2-cyanoacrylate having an ether bond on an ester moiety is at least 10 mass% with respect to 100 mass% total of the 2-cyanoacrylate compound, and the suction length, when the tip of a capillary tube having an inner diameter of 1.05 mm and a length of 120 mm is immersed to a depth of 30 mm for 2 seconds in a bath solution of the composition for sealing a coated electric wire, and then the capillary tube is pulled up and left to stand for 24 hours in a state in which the longitudinal direction of the capillary tube is horizontal with respect to the gravity direction, is 7-42 mm; and a coated electric wire coated with the composition. The composition provides a cured product having excellent heat resistance, moisture heat resistance, and cold heat impact resistance.
