Abstract:
A composition comprising a crosslinking agent and a silicon-containing copolymer having a number-average molecular weight of 500 to 1,000,000 which comprises essential units represented by the formulae (I) and (II) and may contain optional units represented by the formulae (III) to (VII) is reacted at -20 to 100°C for 1 to 3 hours. The resultant composition is applied to a substrate and thermally cured at 150°C or higher (e.g., 250°C). Thus, a cured article of the silicon-containing polymer is obtained which is excellent in various material properties. (In the formulae, A is NH or oxygen, and the proportions thereof are such that Si-O/(Si-N+Si-O) is from 0.01 to 0.99.)
