Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to identify a new chemical substance that participates in helper T cell differentiation, to identify the generation pathways for the chemical substance, and to develop a drug targeting the same. It has been discovered that an adenosine-producing enzyme participates in the control of Th17 cell differentiation and activation. It has also been discovered that inhibitors of the adenosine-producing enzyme are effective as drugs for diseases caused by Th17 cell overreaction.
