Abstract:
The present invention relates to a composition for treating and preventing climacteric syndrome, the composition containing a combined herbal medicinal extract of white atractylis, Mori fructus, Chinese matrimony vine, longan, Achyranthes, Eucommia bark, and Asparagus cochinchinensis Merr. as an active ingredient. The results of an endurance exercise ability evaluation test using a mouse and measurement of a hot flush alleviating effect using the tail skin temperature of a climacterium-induced mouse revealed that an experimental group administered with the extract is able to perform an endurance exercise for a longer period of time than a control group and that the increase in tail skin temperature is suppressed in the experimental group. Thus, it was confirmed that the extract has the effects of alleviating and treating climacteric symptoms, and the extract can be utilized as a raw material for producing a drug, a health functional food, and a heath supplement food.
