Abstract:
A composition comprising an effective amount of a wheat peptide and an effective amount of fucoidan. The composition further comprises an effective amount of at least one component or extract from among white peony root, Magnolia officinalis or Asiatic pennywort herb in combination with the wheat peptide and fucoidan. The composition may prevent and reduce Helicobacter pylori infections as well as gastric mucosal injuries which are caused by non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, drinking, unhealthy eating habits, and stress, may regulate oxidative stress markers and anti-inflammatory markers in subjects, inhibit the generation of interleukin 8 (IL-8) and malondialdehyde (MDA), and increase the generation of superoxide dismutase (SOD) and prostaglandin E2 (PGE2).
