Abstract:
A composition which can impart an antithrombotic ability, which contains, as necessary ingredients, polyurethane or polyurethaneurea containing polytetramethylene oxide units in the main chain, a water-soluble and/or water-swellable polymer, and a silicon-containing compound producing polysiloxane together with cross-linking, and a medical apparatus to be in contact with blood, which has the above composition on the surface thereof in contact with blood. A hydrophilic, high-molecular substance having excellent dynamic properties and an excellent antithrombotic ability can be provided, by the present invention.
