Abstract:

An antifreeze/coolant composition which contains water or glycol as the main component and has an excellent anticorrosive effect on metals, especially aluminum or an aluminum alloy. The composition contains 0.1 to 10 wt.% metal corrosion inhibitor comprising a nonionic surfactant having a cloud point of 30 to 135 DEG C. In the antifreeze/coolant, the surfactant forms an oily coating film on a metal surface. This coating film effectively prevents the metal from corroding.
