Abstract:
A compound which is represented by formula (1). The present invention provides a compound which has high refractive index and excellent polymerizability, and which is useful as a starting material for an optical material, and the like. (In the formula, A represents a polymerizable group; L represents an optionally branched linking group having a valence of (n + 1); R1 represents an optionally substituted aromatic ring group; R2 represents an optionally substituted monovalent organic group; each of X1 and X2 independently represents an oxygen atom, a sulfur atom or an optionally substituted nitrogen atom; m represents an integer of 0 or 1; n represents an integer from 1 to 3; and p represents an integer of 0 or 1. In the formula, two R1 moieties may combine with each other at arbitrary positions to form a ring structure. Meanwhile, all of R1 = R2, X1 = X2 and p = 1 cannot be true at the same time in the formula.)
