Abstract:
This compound superconducting wire has: a compound superconductor part that comprises a plurality of compound superconductive filaments, including a compound superconducting phase formed from Nb3Sn, and a first matrix having the compound superconductive filaments embedded therein and including a first stabilizer; a pillar-shaped reinforcement part, that is disposed inside the compound superconductor part and that comprises a plurality of reinforcing filaments formed from NbTi, and a second matrix having the reinforcing filaments embedded therein and including a second stabilizer formed from a Cu alloy; and a cylindrical stabilizer part disposed on the inner circumferential side and/or the outer circumferential side of the compound superconductor part. In the cross-section of the compound superconducting wire, the proportion of the area of a Ni-rich region with respect to the measurement area of a SEM-EDX elemental analysis for all the elements in the reinforcement part is 5.0% or less, the Ni-rich region being a region where the proportion of the Ni-based strength with respect to the maximum strength measured by the SEM-EDX elemental analysis is 15% or more.
