Abstract:
A composition for a culture medium for detecting enterohemorrhagic Escherichia coli, said composition containing a compound represented by formula (1) or a compound represented by formula (2) and water. [In formulae (1) and (2): Ar1 and Ar2 independently represent a heterocyclic group; and R represents an alkyl group, an aromatic ring group, a heterocyclic group, an acyl group or a carbamoyl group. In formula (1), M represents a hydrogen atom, said hydrogen atom optionally dissociating to form a salt with an alkali metal or an organic base. In formula (2), X- represents a chloride ion, a bromide ion, an iodide ion, an acetate ion or a phosphate ion.]
