Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to reduce the processing time required for compression. A compression program executes a process on a computer, whereby, when data that appears multiple times in a file exists, data in a storage area is updated on the basis of the data that appears multiple times, and compression codes are generated, said compression codes including, among the data stored in the storage data, position information representing the positions in the storage area of data that matches data read from the file, and matching length information representing the matching lengths of the matching data.
