Abstract:
A compression tableting machine that is capable of producing a multilayer tablet
through secondary compression molding of a primary compression molding product
of cylindrical form whose two bottom faces may bulge, composed of two or more layers.
The compression tableting machine is one comprising at least a mortar, a superior
pestle and an inferior pestle, wherein the mortar has substantially the configuration
resulting from punching out of a portion of flat plate by a closed curve in a direction
perpendicular to the plane of the flat plate, and wherein the superior pestle
and inferior pestle have configurations matching the internal face of the mortar,
and wherein the space created by the internal face of the mortar, the lower face
of the superior pestle and the top face of the inferior pestle at secondary compression
molding agrees with the desired tablet configuration, and wherein the recess
created by the internal face of the mortar and the top face of the inferior pestle
is capable of providing a configuration suitable for reception of primary compression
molding product, and wherein the direction of the secondary compression molding
is different from the compression molding direction of the primary compression
molding product. This compression tableting machine is capable of producing
a multilayer tablet of configuration that despite multilayer structure, is
not limited to cylindrical form.
