Abstract:
The invention relates to a compressor (C) comprising at least two stages (ST1, ST2, ST3, ST4) of compression, a first stage (ST1) and a second stage (ST2). Conventional compressors of this type comprise severe limitations with respect to the potential operating parameters. The invention solves this problem in that the first stage (ST1) comprises at least two compression modules (CM1 - CM4) operated parallel to each other, a first compression module (CM1) and a second compression module (CM2), wherein the first compression module (CM1) compresses a first process gas flow (VF1) and the second compression module (CM2) compresses a second process gas flow (VF2), said process gas flows (VF1, VF2) being fed together downstream of the first stage (ST1) before entering the second stage (ST2), wherein the second stage (ST2) comprises only one compression module (CM3).
