Abstract:
Provided is a compressor with which high noise reduction effect can be obtained through sufficient reduction in pressure pulsations of coolant discharged from a muffler outlet. This rotary compressor (1) is provided with a compression mechanism (20) for compressing a coolant in association with rotation of a shaft (123), and a muffler (30) disposed about the shaft (123) and in opposition to the compression mechanism (20), for receiving the coolant discharged from the compression mechanism (20). A muffler outlet (38) for discharging the coolant inside the muffler (30) forms an annular opening along the outside circumference of the shaft (123). A constriction (36) in which the coolant channel leading towards the muffler outlet (38) narrows in the lengthwise direction of the shaft (123) is formed about the shaft (123) inside the muffler (30).
