Abstract:
Provided is a compressor that comprises a compression element for compressing a refrigerant, an electromotive element for driving the compression element, a rotating shaft for connecting the electromotive element and the compression element, a cup muffler for covering a compressed gas discharge section of the compression element from which compressed refrigerant is discharged, and a sealed container which encloses the foregoing components and in which lubricating oil is stored at the bottom, wherein disposed is a flammable material for helping to start the ignition or combustion of a flammable refrigerant or the lubricating oil, through oxygen in air that has been mixed into the compressed gas discharged from the compressed gas discharge section, the flammable material being disposed on the compressed gas discharge section side of the cup muffler, or on the opposite side from the compressed gas discharge section in a state of abutment against the cup muffler, or on the compressed gas discharge section side of the cup muffler as well as on the opposite side from the compressed gas discharge section in a state of abutment against the cup muffler.
