Abstract:
This computer has: an arithmetic device; a storage device; a plurality of I/O adaptors for connection to an I/O apparatus; and an I/O adaptor processing device that controls transmission of I/O commands to the I/O adaptors. The computer further has a virtualization control module that generates a plurality of logical partitions by logically dividing computer resources, and manages the logical partitions. Each of the I/O adaptors can be set to either an unoccupied state or an occupied state as an allocation state. Each of the I/O adaptors, upon receiving an I/O command outputted from any one of the logical partitions, analyzes the I/O command, and changes the allocation state on the basis of the result of analysis of the I/O command.
