Abstract:
This computer system calculates a target additional amount which is either a target additional logical capacity determined on the basis of a required total logical capacity and the current upper limit of the total logical capacity, or a target additional amount of writes determined on the basis of a required total amount of writes and the current upper limit of the total amount of writes, or both. The total logical capacity is the sum of logical capacities provided by all nonvolatile memory devices. The total amount of writes is the sum of the amounts of writes to all nonvolatile memory devices. The amount of writes to each nonvolatile memory device is the amount of data written to the nonvolatile memory of the nonvolatile memory device. The computer system displays addition suggestion information including information relating to the relationship between (b1) and (b2): (b1) said target additional amount; and (b2) the number of nonvolatile memory devices to be added and the OP ratio of these nonvolatile memory devices to be added.
