Abstract:
When a surveillance center uses satellite links to collect image data captured by a group of cameras, the communication bandwidth tightens the more cameras there are. In order to address this problem, the present invention provides a computer system for monitoring image data captured by a plurality of cameras, said computer system being provided with a camera server. The camera server has a cache for storing the image data and a feature-quantity extracting unit for detecting occurrence of an event and for analyzing the detected event. The computer system includes a frame-rate determining unit for determining, on the basis of the analysis of the event, a frame rate used to obtain image data from the camera that has captured the image data where the occurrence of the event has been detected, and an image data acquiring unit for acquiring image data at the determined frame rate from the camera that has captured the image data where the occurrence of the event has been detected.
