Abstract:
A computer system of an embodiment of the present invention comprises one or more storage devices for providing a plurality of storage resources, and a management system for managing the one or more storage devices. The management system stores configuration information relating to the plurality of storage resources. The management system specifies an empty storage resource that does not match a configuration condition including one or more predesignated condition items in response to a predesignated event, and records information relating to the specified empty storage resource and an unmatching reason in condition-unmatched storage resource information. The management system repeats the specification and the storage that respond to the predesignated event. After the repetition, the management system selects, as an unnecessary storage resource candidate, an empty storage resource that matches a predesignated unnecessary storage resource condition from the condition-unmatched storage resource information.
