Abstract:
An conductive member according to the present invention comprises a support having conductivity and a conductive layer on the outer surface of the support, and serves as a member for electrophotography. The conductive layer has: a matrix including a first rubber cross-linker and first conductive particles; and domains each including a second rubber cross-linker and second conductive particles. At least part of the first conductive particles are present in the first rubber cross-linker as primary particles. Assuming that the length of the conductive layer in the longitudinal direction is L and the thickness of the conductive layer is T, when each of cross-sections of the conductive layer in the thickness direction at three positions, i.e., the center in the longitudinal direction and positions spaced apart by L/4 from both ends of the conductive layer toward the center, is observed in a specific observation region, this conductive member satisfies the conditions that: an average primary particle diameter d1 of the first conductive particles in the matrix is 200 nm or larger; an average primary particle diameter d2 of the second conductive particles in each domain is 50 nm or smaller; and in 80% or larger in quantity of the domains, a ratio of the cross-sectional area of the second conductive particles included in the domain to the cross-sectional area of the domain is 20% or larger, and the equivalent circle diameter of the domain is 4×d2 or larger.
