The present application discloses a confocal microscope provided with a light generation unit for simultaneously generating reflected light that is reflected from a sample and transmitted light that passes through the sample, a scanning unit for optically scanning the sample and adjusting the angle of the direction of a first light path through which the reflected light is propagated, an adjusting unit for adjusting the angle of the direction of a second light path through which the transmitted light is propagated, a first signal generation unit for generating a first signal that corresponds to the reflected light, a second signal generation unit for generating a second signal that corresponds to the transmitted light, and an image generation unit for generating, according to the first signal and second signal, a combined image in which the reflected image expressed by the reflected light and the transmitted image expressed by the transmitted light are combined.
