Abstract:
A connected structural body capable of remarkably increasing a proof stress and a fatigue performance by relieving a stress concentration and a weld heat residual stress at the toe part of a platy member, wherein an end part (4) of the platy member (3) such as a reinforcement rib installed projectedly on the surface of a structural member (1) in the direction perpendicular to a principal stress is bent in the direction away from the direction of the principal stress so as to reduce the rigidity of the end part (4) and relieve the stress concentration, the end part (4) of the platy member (3) is bent in curved shape for relieving, desirably until a bent angle becomes right angle relative to the direction of the principal stress, the platy member may be flat, or the entire member may be formed in U- or V-shape and, in addition, the platy member may be of the weld type or integrally formed type.
