Abstract:
The present invention suppresses pressure deformation of a bearing metal due to recessed parts such as an oil supply path or oil supply groove formed in a bearing surface at an end of a connecting rod, while preventing the bearing metal from being excessively thickened. A connecting rod (18) is provided with recessed parts (15, 16) which are formed in a bearing surface (8a) of an end (8A) of the connecting rod (18), and a bearing metal (11A) which is attached to the bearing surface (8a) and which has a half-cylindrical shape. When the opening width dimension of each of the recessed parts (15, 16) is defined as d and the thickness dimension of the bearing metal (11A) is defined as H, H is set so as to satisfy H>d·α and the range of the coefficient α is set so as to satisfy any one of: (a) α>0.6 in the case where the recessed parts are a hole and grooves and the opening width dimension d is less than 10 mm; (b) α=0.8 in the case where the recessed parts are a hole and grooves and the opening width dimension d is 10-40 mm; (c) α>0.5 in the case where all the recessed parts are holes and the opening width dimension d is less than 10 mm; and (d) α>0.6 in the case where all the recessed parts are holes and the opening width dimension d is 10-40 mm.
