Disclosed are a connection releasing method and device, which belong to the field of smart homes. The method comprises: receiving a releasing request sent by a user account, wherein the releasing request is used for releasing a connection from equipment; when the user account is an owner account of the equipment, querying at least one shared person account corresponding to the equipment, wherein the shared person account is an account which obtains control permission of the equipment in a sharing manner; and releasing a binding connection between the equipment and the owner account and a permission relation connection between the equipment and the shared person account. This disclosure solves the problem of poor security in related technologies. After the owner account of the equipment is unbound from the equipment, the permission relation connection between the shared person account of the equipment and the equipment is also released, so that the security of the equipment is fully improved.
