Title:
CONNECTION TERMINAL FOR NEON TUBE ELECTRODE AND NEON TUBE ELECTRODE EQUIPPED WITH SAME
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO2003044905
Kind Code:
A3
Abstract:
The invention concerns a connection terminal for neon tube electrode and a neon tube electrode equipped with same, said connection terminal being simple, compact, light, economical and rapidly mounted on the electrode without deteriorating it and interchangeable while preserving the electrode and its seam on the neon tube. Said connection terminal (30) is made of a light material, for instance a moulded or injected synthetic material, designed to be freely mounted on the end (3) of the electrode (1). It comprises an axial bore (13) completely traversed by the electrode conductor (4) whereof the end is folded on the connection terminal (30) to maintain it on said electrode (1). Said connection terminal (30) comprises a nesting zone (A) and an electrical connecting zone (B) axially aligned. The electrical connecting zone (13) comprises a nickel plated metal insert (18) provided with said axial bore (13) receiving a supply conductor (6) adjacent to said electrode conductor (4) as well as two radial threaded holes (15), diametrically opposite and axially offset to receive two clamping screws (16) perpendicular to the axial bore (13) opposite said electrode (4) and supply (6) conductors. The clamping screws (16) enable to connect electrically by direct contact the electrode (4) and supply (6) conductors by radially deforming them and securing said connection terminal (30) to said electrode (1). The invention is applicable to illuminated sign, any signaling and/or decorative pattern and any application using neon tubes.
